On the front of the ,000 COP banknote is an image of Virginia Gutiérrez de Pineda, anthropologist. The back side of the Diez Mil Pesos bill shows a view on the river Amazon and the Amazon rain forest, along with a river snake and the Victoria Regia water lily.
El rojo es el color predominante. En el anverso se aprecia la imagen de la antropóloga Virginia Gutiérrez junto con la rana arborícola y la flor de la Victoria Regia. En el reverso se resalta el paisaje de la región amazónica en la que el río Amazonas, que se acerca desde el horizonte, se convierte en serpiente y la representación de un pescador en una canoa y algunas especies animales.
