2 c1889 Outdoor Cab Cards of People w Embroidered Shawls / Marathon, NY

Description

This lot contains 2 outdoor cabinet card photos taken sometime between 1887-91. One is of an older lady holding a large book and standing by a chair with an embroidered/needlepoint shawl draped over the back and a potted plant on the chair seat. The 2nd photo is of a young couple both wearing flower corsages. They are standing by the same chair with a different decorative draped over the back. The photos were obviously taken by the same photographer, but the name and location is not printed on the mount. I’ve had others with this same background and chair taken in the Marathon, New York area so I presume these were also from that area. Both photos are in good condition and images have good contrast. None of the people are identified (backs are blank except for my pencil notation of the probably location).
