Antique 19thC. Christopher Dresser Linthorpe/Ault Ceramic Pottery Vase

Description

Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) was an innovative, influential and prolific British designer during the late 19thC. who worked not only in ceramics, but furniture, glass, wallpaper and carpets.  He designed for Linthorpe Pottery until it closed in 1889 when their molds were sold to William Ault of Ault Pottery.  This atheistic design is stamped 344 and I believe was done in the 1870"s.  It has an embossed pattern which look like half circle sunbursts around the widest part of the vase as well as around the area near the top as well as rings around the circumference. The vase measures a bit over 9" High and about 6" at it's widest point. It is signed but the impressed signature is difficult to see and is in excellent condition with what might be minor edge flaking at the very bottom or perhaps it was never completely glazed as it is in a difficult spot to be worn off.  Please examine the photos as they are an important part of the description and email with any questions or additional photos.
