Antique A. Barwood Apothecary Pharmacy Gold Balance Scale on Wood Base with Drawer & Weights
The Beautiful Brass Pharmacy Balance Scale attaches to a Gorgeous Burl Walnut Case with Drawer.  The Scale pieces fit inside the drawer for storage.
The Scale is marked:
"A. BARWOOD  23.ST.JAMES' R  SOUTHSEA".
Also included with the Scale are weights:
1.  "2  OZ  TROY" Brass Cup.  Approximate Measurements:  1 3/8" D x .75" H.
2.  "1 oz.  TROY" Brass Scale Weight.  Marked on the bottom:  (crown)  G 2 R  (shield)  44".
3.  "2" Nickel Plated Weight.  Marked on the bottom:  "40".  A lot of the plating is worn off.
4.  Six (6) Antique English Brass Currency Weights.  Both sides of the weights are marked:  1.  "PENNY  2  WEIGHTS  (crown) G R 522  48 GRAINS"; 2.  "PENNY  5  WEIGHTS  32 (crown) G R 522  72 GRAINS"; 3.  6  DWTS  (6 dots)"; 4.  "PENNY  5  WEIGHTS  120  GRAINS  (crown) G 2 R 42":; 5.  "PENNY  5  WEIGHTS  (crown) G R 522 32  120  GRAINS"; & 6.  "PENNY  10  WEIGHTS  240  GRAINS  (crown) G R 224".
The Lever should raise & lower the scale pans; however, it is not working ... needs to be repaired.
USED CONDITION:
There are the normal scruffs & scratches to the Pharmacy Scale & Box with Drawer due to use & storage.  Lever to lower & raise pans needs to be repaired ... does not work.  There is some red paint on the box.  The sides of the compartment in the right corner are loose & need to be glued.
Approximate Measurements:  Storage Box with Drawer:  12" L x 6.5" W x 3" H; Scale:  12" L x 14" H.
