ANTIQUE BROWN & SHARPE APOTHECARY SCALE With Weights & Box - circa early 1900's
This is a cast iron scale by Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co., Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A., circa, early 20th century.
It measures 7.25" wide X 4" and has a cast iron base with built-in 8 1/2" level gauge and adjuster. I
t has a unique bubble level in its base to allow leveling of its base, to ensure accuracy of the scale.
The gloss black enamel finish has gold
    pinstriping
    and leaf designs.
    Included is a wooden
box of weights, with weights ranging from 100 to 4000 grams, and a 1 OZ. weight. An extra 2 OZ. weight included that was not part of the original set of weights.
Both the weights and scale are in excellent working condition. The finish on the scale shows age related wear.
