Antique French Scale/Weight Measure w/ Weight Kit

* * * *   A FRENCH MEASURING SCALE MADE BEFORE 1940    * * * *
For sale is a French antique measuring scale with a set of weights made
before 1940.  There are two weighing plates, 6-1/4" diameter and all original.
The scale is 16" long by 6-3/8" wide by 7-1/4" tall.  A set of 11 weights is
included (a 1 gram weight is missing and the 500 gram is stuck in the
wood holder) from 500 grams down to 2 grams.  The base is cast iron with
the original paint; the complete set weighs 9.5 lbs.  Molded in the cast iron
base are the words FORCE and 2KILOG.
This set once belonged to a French wartime bride from World War II.  She
brought it with her when she came to the United States.  It has been well
cared for all these years.  It has a nice country look to it and would make a
great addition to any kitchen or general store - STILL WORKS!
