    Description

    For sale is a very neat old traveling gold balance scale. The scale comes in an oval tin case and has 5 original weights. On the case's bottom is a name scratched into the surface, the first name I can't make out but the last name is Burton. The weights are marked with dots representing their various weights. They also are marked with a Lion. The case has green felt on the base interior and the lid has a padded silk which is a bit worn. The case has some age wear, scratches and small dents. The scale has a couple of replaced support strings that hold the pans. The case measures 4 5/8" long and is 2 1/4" wide. Please see the photos for details. A very nice mid 19th century gold scale.
