Description
Antique apothecary pharmacist scale made by Henry Troemner in Philadelphia, PA. When the lid is closed, it measures about 7.25" tall, and the base is about 14" x 7". Condition is as seen in photos. Scratches and other wear. The metal trays have some small rust spots. The glass piece under the scale trays is painted black on the underside, but some of the paint is worn/missing. The knob on the front is to stabilize the scale for transport (turning it all the way to the left stabilizes the internal mechanism, and turning it all the way to the right allows the mechanism to move freely, and the scale to function properly. The knob on the right side of the scale operates a small metal fork inside the scale that can be used to slide the small sliding weight along the beam inside the scale. The two front legs are adjustable to level the scale, but there is supposed to be a third leg in the center rear, which is missing, causing the scale to tilt toward the back. The door that opens on the side of the scale has a crack that has been repaired with glue. Please take a look at the photos and feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!!
