For sale is a large, solid bronze proof commemorative coin commemorating, in 1981, the bicentennial of the Revolutionary
    War battle at Yorktown.
The coin was provided as the courtesy of Mary Mathews, Sponsor of the Ticonderoga Class
    cruiser USS Yorktown (CG 48).
Construction started on the cruiser in October of 1981.
The ship served from 1984 to 2004 when it was decommissioned
    .
This coin is very attractive and it is in the unopened, original packaging.
The packaging is not in the greatest shape (please
see the photos) but the coin is still sealed in.
This might make a great gift for any sailor who served on this Yorktown, any
Ingalls Shipyard worker who might have
helped build the ship, a Revolutionary War "fan", or for any collector of such
    militaria
    .
Please ask any questions you might have prior to bidding.
    Thank you.
