    THE LATIN QUARTER NIGHTCLUB ORIGINALLY OPENED IN 1942, RIVALING THE COPACABANA WHICH HAD OPENED TWO YEARS EARLIER. THE FOUNDER WAS LEW WALTERS, THE FATHER OF BARBARA WALTERS. IT PRESENTED LIVE FLOOR SHOWS THAT FEATURED BEAUTIFUL SCANILY-CLAD CHORUS GIRLS AND RISING STARS SUCH AS ROBERTA SHERWOOD AND CORBETT MONICA. THE CLUB WAS LOCATED IN TIMES SQUARE AND FAMOUS FOR ITS FLASHING NEON SIGNS. IT ATTRACTED THE RICH AND FAMOUS PEOPLE OF POST WWII NEW YORK
