I BELIEVE ONE DAY COLLECTORS WILL REALIZE HOW UNIQUE THE EARLY 1980'S VIDEO RELEASE ITEMS ARE AND THEY WILL BE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER. FROM ABOUT 1979 TO 1984 ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS WERE PRIMARILY USED IN VIDEO STORES. THE FINAL DECISION ON VIDEO STORE RENTAL LAW WASN'T MADE UNTIL 1984. HOWEVER, BY THEN THE COURT AND THE STUDIOS SEEN THE INDUSTRY GROW OUT OF CONTROL WHILE STILL IN COURT.  THEY WERE ALREADY PRODUCING THE VIDEOS AND JOINING IN THE BUSINESS IN A BIG WAY WHILE STILL IN COURT FIGHTING THE LEGALITY OF THE BUSINESS. Now Sony owns everything :-)
The Supreme Court's decision in the case of
Sony v. Universal City Studios
, involving the home use of video recorders and the federal copyright law, determined that the former did not infringe on the latter as long as the copied material was not used for profit. By the end of 1983 there were eight million video recorders in use in the U.S.; that number would soar as the legality of home recording seemed settled. Nonetheless, the studios lobbied Congress for a law that would attach a royalty or surcharge to the sale of VCRs and blank tapes.
THE FIRST FEW YEARS THE STUDIOS WERE SENDING OUT POSTERS WHICH WERE THE SAME AS USED IN THE THEATERS BUT WITH A LITTLE VIDEO SNIPE. THIS ONE HAS IT'S OWN UNIQUE ART BY "WAITE"
VERY FINE-NEAR MINTCONDITION. Never displayed, No pin holes or tape . FOLDED AS ISSUED, STORED AND WILL BE SHIPPED ROLLED

I AM A WELL KNOWN POSTER DEALER, I HAVE SOLD MOVIE POSTERS FULL TIME SINCE 1980, I HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD IN BULK DURING THAT TIME, I HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD TO MANY CELEBRITYS AS WELL AS THE GRUNTS BEHIND THE SCENES. I HAVE BEEN CONSULTANT TO TELEVISION, RADIO AND MAGAZINE REGARDING MOVIE MEMORABILIA
THIS MOVIE THEATER POSTER CAME FROM MY RETAIL STORES INVENTORY, I CLOSED MY LAST STORE IN MARIN COUNTY CA. IN 1999. PRIOR TO EBAY'S ARRIVAL THERE WERE VERY FEW FULL TIME MOVIE PAPER DEALERS IN THE U.S. AND EVEN LESS THAT HANDLED PRIMARILY CURRENT TITLES, (1970 & LATER). THE FEW OF US THERE WERE BOUGHT, SOLD AND TRADED WITH EACH OTHER. HOWEVER, OUR SALES WERE ISOLATED TO OUR STORES OR IF WE TRAVELED TO ANTIQUE SHOWS AND COLLECTORS EVENTS. COLLECTIONS WOULD COME IN FROM THE PUBLIC TO MY LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO SELL THEM. I BOUGHT POSTERS IN SMALL AND LARGE AMOUNTS, 1 TO 1000 COPYS AND MORE.
I HAVE SEVERAL HUNDRED EBAY AUCTIONS EACH MONTH, I can add more Items to this package at no increase in shipping cost most of the time,  to view my other items click or copy and paste this
