The accelerator linkage from the motor to the firewall houses the bushing/pivot, which breaks down over time and eventually crumbles where the linkage is mounted onto the firewall(see photo #6). It is a necessary component for your vehicle to perform properly and safely. When the old part fails, you will not have any rpm's beyond idle speed, no matter how much you press on the accelerator! It could become a major safety issue! This part fits all DIESEL only versions of MB's W123 chassis, from 1981- 1985, that have suffered breakdown due to the destructive force of time and heat.
