THE DRUNKARD and THE WAYWARD WAY, Souvenir Program, the Theatre Mart, Los Angeles, CA, c.1950. The Galt Bell show was first produced in 1843 by P.T. Barnum at his American Museum in NYC where it played for more than a year. This production opened in Los Angeles, CA on 07/06/33 and ran through 10/17/59 for 9477 performances making it a record at the time for the longest running show ever. On 09/03/53 THE DRUNKARD was turned into a musical titled THE WAYWARD WAY and the two versions alternated in performance. Inside are production photos, headshot photos, background, photos from the olio performed after the show and critics' quotes. The cast includes Marie Du Val, Woodie Wilson, Ralph Neff, George Stuart, Dorothy Minnick, Frank Herman, Henry Ried, Glenn Turnbull, Meurisse Helm, Virginia Barbour, Neely Edwards, James Bronte, John Fletcher, Neva Sebert, Angus White, John Culwell, Paula Teagarden and Joseph Carney. Music and lyrics by Lorne Huycke and Bill Howe and book by Galt Bell. Directed by Dan Eckley. The program is complete.
