    Description

Greetings! Thank you for joining us in order to preview an exceptionally scarce and distinctive pairing of antiquarian political ephemera pieces for any variety of collector and historical archives. Offered here are TWO original (dated 1918) campaign cards, with emphasis upon one in particular; the second being a fun little extra for the high bidder. The feature photographic business type promotional card is for the re election of San Diego County Justice of the Peace JAMES F. KELLEY. During Kelley’s tenure at Ramona, CA., the location was truly the Wild West, a back country community of rowdy ranchers and scofflaws making their own way in a still relatively young California, merely a generation away from 1849. His first trial involved a shoot out between two cattle ranchers. We were unable to find anything out about Joseph B. Kelley, but the names match up and both men appeared to have been in the same business. Without knowing details about the second photo card, we are simply adding it as an extra for your contemplation. Both cards are of your typical wallet size business card measurements. Each card is glossy, bold, bright, crisp and supple, with the featured card demonstrating some modest tanning. The photos shown here will provide an accurate visual description of both cards in assuring one’s maximum bid. An attractive pairing of obscure political discoveries for any collection. Be sure to stake a claim now or simply follow the early California frontier life keepsakes on your “Watch List”. Thank you for the kind bidness.
