Description
For sale is an antique drug scale, made by Henry Troemner in Philadelphia, Pa. This scale has a glass and wood hinged lid and the scale mechanism is made of copper. There are two weighing plates, original. The wood top and base have a truly wonderful patina. There is a small drawer on the bottom of the chest and another label around a washer in the center. The size is 14.5" long by 8" high and 7.5" wide. There is a marble plate on the center of the scale used to separate the plates from the rest of the wooden base. Under the wooden structure is a small drawer that would hold weights when they would not be in use, unfortunately, said weights are not present.Condition (top to bottom):
Lid: the lid is in great condition with minimal scratching and the glass only being dirty with no scratching.
Weighing plates: Other than having to be cleaned, there is no damage.
Marble: The stone is loose from its screws needing to be replaced and has slight chipping on its edges, but no major damage is present.
Wooden frame: other than slight scratching, no damage.
Wooden Drawer: no damage other than slight scratching.
Wooden feet: three of the feet are missing half of their bases, but are still capable in keeping the scale upright without trouble.
