Antique Folder-Style Cabinet Card Photograph and Newspaper Clipping. Identified as Belle (wife of William H.) Whipple and their children Parthena and Bernice. Photo by Roger Paul Jordan studio of Portland, Maine. The Portland newspaper clipping features a similar studio portrait of the family and is dated August 14, 1921.
Photo measures approximately 6.75 x 10.25 including mount.

Comments:
An online genealogy source reveals Belle was born about 1888 and was 27 years younger than her husband William H. Whipple. During the 1940 U.S. Census the couple resided in Falmouth, Maine with their children Parthena age 21 and Bernice age 19. Mr. Whipple was most likely a descendant of William Whipple, Jr., of Kittery, Maine, who was a Brigadier General in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
